Bush Tomato

Bush tomato (Desert Raisin or Kutjera) is a delight. Both savoury and sweet and packing a punch. We LOVE bush tomato and use it in everything.

These beauties are wild harvested in central Australia by an amazing group of Indigenous women. Try them ground and rubbed into your BBQ meat, on a cheese board or in stews and casseroles.

NOTE:  Bush Tomato can NOT be shipped overseas as it is a seed. This items is only shipped Australia Wide. PLEASE do not on ship it overseas. Protect the IP of our First Nations Food.

Warndu Bush Tomato is sold as whole dried fruit because the powder oxidises quickly and loses its flavour. To get the most of this incredible flavour we recommend using it whole, or crushing it in a mortar & pestle to make a powder right before you use it. We use bush tomato for almost all garlic substitution and stock cubes., use it with a micro plane for best results!

Warndu means good in the Adnyamathanha language.

Our mission is to REGENERATE culture, community, tradition, health and our soils. Every product we make includes one or more Australian Native ingredients.

In our efforts to be zero waste and plastic free, and with the changes to recycling in Australia, we will be phasing out all plastic bags. For now you may receive your spices, teas and home products in either black, white or clear plastic, and once that is all gone our amazing new compostable plant-based packaging will be what you will receive products in.
Thanks for your patience and understanding whilst we endeavour to tread lightly on your yarta (land).

To maintain Warndu taste we keep smaller quantities on hand of our Australian Natives, it takes us a little while to dry, roast or grind them to make. We aim to send all orders within ten days of receiving them.

A wonderful flavour

I am just learning about how to use these best but eaten straight out of the packet they are delicious- crunchy, chewy, caramel and tangy. I think they will add lovely depth to many foods as an alternative tomato flavour.
